It was NOT me who made our 4-year-old take a shower at 11AM this morning just so I could have uninterrupted time with the girls to do language arts. I am certainly more prepared with Ty-friendly, educational activities and would NEVER need to use the shower as a babysitter.

It was NOT me who tried to make bread while talking and forgot to add the water. I did NOT attempt to salvage it by adding the water after the fact. It did NOT create a mess that in no way resembled bread.

I did NOT accompany my family to the movies to see the Muppets, Facebook that we were at the Chipmunks, then sleep through the movie.

It was NOT me who exceeded her text message limit last month by over 20%. Only high schoolers do that right?!!?

It was NOT me who was trying to make the best use of her time and post a draft via my new phone app. It did NOT publish instead of save making me look like a complete fool since it was titled “Not Me! Monday” and posted on Sunday!

It is NOT me who is still looking for the bag of tortellini that was supposed to be last Thursday’s dinner.

It is NOT me who is spending way too much time eating all the food that is remotely perishable out of my refrigerator so it won’t go to waist waste while we’re away.  Thin Mints are perishable right?

It was NOT me who bought really expensive organic milk this week just so I could get the cardboard carton for a school project.  I did NOT put it in the refrigerator just to realize our OJ comes in half-gallon cardboard cartons…duh!

I am NOT that mom who just goes to the gym to escape her kids.  I did NOT pack a magazine to read just so I could kill my maximum amount of time without actually working out that long.

I was NOT our family who had an off-hand conversation about getting a dog, decided we wanted one, found one, and adopted one into our home all in the span of 24 hours.  We would NEVER be that impulsive.

This is NOT the newest member of our family.

Meet Hope.

1. I’m super-organized about homeschooling so it was NOT me who did “Long E” week with Mia instead of “TH Week” because I was so focused on what I was planning instead of what the current week’s assignment was supposed to be.
2. As a professional photographer, it would NEVER be me to head to an awesome colonial re-enactment field trip with both kids dressed in period clothes with a battery-less camera.
3. It was NOT my 15 passenger van you saw stuck in the mud at that field trip.  It did NOT take AAA (plus their straps), 2 volunteer re-enactors (plus their chains), and 3 staff men (plus their straps) to pull my extremely stuck vehicle to solid ground.
4. Three hours later, it was NOT my child who you may have seen exiting my daughter’s dance studio only dressed in his underwear after he found and consequently slipped in a gully full of mud.

After a year-long hiatus, Not Me! Monday is back!  I’m so excited McMama brought it back.  I’ve had a week that really needed it

Our cars were NOT cleaner than our kids for the majority of the weekend.

I did NOT spend a lot of time this week sitting around watching Jasmine Star shoot a wedding even though I had kids to take care of, chores to do, and a throbbing week-long migraine.

My house is NOT filthy (even by my standards).

We are NOT going to make the absolute most of this week since the rest of the world went back to school today and we have one more week of summer!

I am NOT guilty of falling back into old spending habits now that we have an income.  Nope, I have way more self-control that that.

I did NOT promise myself that I would train like I was going to do a triathlon this summer (even though I wasn’t) only to sit on my butt all summer.

It was NOT me sweating it out on the playground last week in a sweater in 80 degree weather because I forgot to put a bra on under my tank top before running out the door. 

I did NOT spend full price on toothpaste today.  I am way too thrifty and coupon savvy to ever do that.

I did NOT falsely assume that the soaking wet contents in the bottom of my purse (thanks to a leaky sippy) would just dry out.  When I pulled my reusable bag out at Target today, the smell did NOT make me want to vomit all over the cashier.  I did NOT ask her to use it anway because it was worth the $0.05 discout to me.
