Sign Language & a Contest

It all started with this sign.

Maybe you have to experience Addis traffic before you can fully appreciate that this sign probably means something like, “Run for your life and drag your kid with you when crossing!”

Then we started noticing other people in signs who seemed decidely less frazzled.

Some were even brave enough to cross alone.

This guy was fortunate enough to cross at the probably the only crosswalk in Addis.

There were a couple other notable signs as well. This was one of a few stop signs we saw.

Pretty much everyone ignored it.

Cattle crossing is not unusual…even in the middle of the city.

Why this intersection was marked and not the other hundreds around it, we’ll never know.

This is just funny since Addis is one of the loudest cities I’ve visited.

Anyway, I think this photo (or at least the sign) deserves a clever name.
